The Battery Innovation Center, Indiana (BIC) will adopt the Byterat platform as it prepares to almost triple its capacity for cell manufacturing and testing.

Byterat becomes the BIC’s data management and analytics platform for supporting its 400-strong customer base across the battery value chain.

San Francisco, CA and Newberry, IN – Byterat, a modern battery data management and analytics platform announced its collaboration with the Battery Innovation Center of Indiana (BIC). BIC, a premier facility for prototype manufacturing, testing, and evaluation of energy storage systems, will leverage Byterat’s secure battery data platform to expedite the development, testing, and commercialization of lightweight energy storage solutions for both commercial and defense applications.

Les Alexander, CEO of the Battery Innovation Center of Indiana, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, “The Byterat platform will help BIC support our clients as they strive to enhance and scale their capabilities. With Byterat’s support, BIC will continue to increase its capacity to meet the evolving demands of the battery industry.”

Dr. Penelope Jones, CEO and co-founder of Byterat, said:  “We are happy to empower the BIC and its clients to optimize their battery data workflows. Our platform provides the robust foundation necessary for data-driven decision making across a battery organization. It sets a new standard for how much value can be extracted from a company’s battery data.”

The announcement comes as the BIC prepares for a significant expansion of its advanced cell prototyping and production capabilities. Their new Indianapolis facility will approximately triple their cell manufacturing capacity and is due to open in late May 2024.

The Byterat platform will be used by BIC scientists, engineers and executives to manage data from both facilities, and enables the needs of hundreds of BIC customers to be supported. The collaboration between BIC and Byterat is set to deliver benefits ranging from enhanced efficiency to more data-driven decision-making, and accelerated innovation compared to traditional methods.
